Zelphir Kaltstahl (zelphirkaltstahl@mastodon.social)'s status on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2022 16:48:11 CET Zelphir Kaltstahl @mfiano Me being a huge #scheme fan, who once started to learn Common #lisp with SBCL, but then picked up #SICP and rolls with Scheme since then: What kind of problem is it, that does not map well to Common Lisp, but maps well to a Scheme? I would have thought, that CL's sometimes less functional approach would give slightly more flexibility than Scheme.

Michael Fiano (mfiano@mastodon.social)'s status on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2022 16:48:11 CET Michael Fiano I am currently learning Guile Scheme for a project idea that doesn't map very well to Common Lisp, without a lot of work.
I was thinking about turning this into a live weekly study group on a video conferencing platform, probably Jitsi.

zig ?? (zig@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 25-Apr-2019 14:51:02 CEST zig ?? So far, R7RS has been incredibly easy to implement on top of #guile thanks because it is mostly R6RS and things that are not part of R6RS are in SRFI libraries that are well coded and portable.
I had similar experience getting together #R7RS in Chez #Scheme.
I know devil is the detail. Eventually, I guess that I will hit roadblocks that will require some patches in guile like `define-library` form.
Happy hacking!
