How can I make it happen for anything that is `define-whatever` without defining it for any `define-whatever`s? -

Ekaitz Zárraga 👹 (ekaitz_zarraga@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 03-Jul-2023 01:38:51 CEST Ekaitz Zárraga 👹 I've been coding a little bit in #zig today.
I like the ideas of the language but coming from #scheme makes any other language seem complex. The syntax is a little bit weird, and there are some things that are not clear at first.
#Zig is a very well designed language but my bias is killing me.

Andrew Tropin (abcdw@fosstodon.org)'s status on Thursday, 06-Apr-2023 19:11:21 CEST Andrew Tropin I'm really happy that #clojure has immutable data structures out of the box.
I wish we can have the same in #scheme one day or maybe in some scheme dialect at least, which is easy to use along with the rest of the ecosystem.

David Wilson (daviwil@fosstodon.org)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2022 13:31:21 CET David Wilson I've had a lot of fun working on my own Scheme compiler this year but I'm starting to wonder if my time would be better spent hacking on #Guile #Scheme instead.
The compiler and runtime are mature and battle-tested, the tooling is excellent (#Guix, Geiser), lots of useful libraries, and the community is filled with smart, creative people.
I'm now considering spending a couple of months experimenting with Guile to see if I can quickly accomplish some of the things I had in mind with Mesche...

Zelphir Kaltstahl (zelphirkaltstahl@mastodon.social)'s status on Tuesday, 27-Dec-2022 16:48:11 CET Zelphir Kaltstahl @mfiano Me being a huge #scheme fan, who once started to learn Common #lisp with SBCL, but then picked up #SICP and rolls with Scheme since then: What kind of problem is it, that does not map well to Common Lisp, but maps well to a Scheme? I would have thought, that CL's sometimes less functional approach would give slightly more flexibility than Scheme.

Mina (meena@cathode.church)'s status on Wednesday, 01-Jun-2022 13:00:01 CEST Mina is there a way to compile #guile projects such that i can easily distribute them across different #Unix Operating Systems?
Linux, FreeBSD on amd64 and aarch64 would be a good start.
Solaris, and Windows are nice to have.(AIX, z/OS and Hauku? now we're getting ahead of ourselves)
if guile isn't really suitable, which other #scheme is?
