I have successfully defeated sql for the night. I am sure that tomorrow it will be back for revenge.

inmysocks (version: awoo) (inmysocks@awoo.space)'s status on Wednesday, 10-Apr-2019 22:24:58 CEST inmysocks (version: awoo) I used the laser cutter. It took a long time but then I realised that I hadn't cleaned the lens, so it should hopefully take much less time in the future.
For scale, the pieces of wood it is cut out of is 3mm think and A4 sized.
LASER CUTTER!!!

Which doesn't help much.Tiddlywiki is a little personal wiki that can either be a single html file or a node application. I made a thing that makes it much much easier to use and manage different wikis, and it is turning into a federated wiki.
It is good for organizing things for yourself. I use it for project documentation and keeping track of my research.

inmysocks (version: awoo) (inmysocks@awoo.space)'s status on Wednesday, 06-Mar-2019 11:41:55 CET inmysocks (version: awoo) This is the first thing we have successfully cut on the laser cutter after getting all the components together.
It cut though 3mm MDF in 10 passes with a 5.5w laser. So it was able to retrace its path 10 times with no noticeable deviation, and we returned it to the initial position every 2 passes to give the laser some time to cool off because it is cheap.
We bought the z-axis movement, the x axis is a camera rail Ben had, everything else we sourced and bought from hardware stores. #Engineering -

The laser cutter frame that we built using off the shelf components has x, y and z movement controlled by GRBL. It needs to be calibrated and other fun stuff like that, but I am ridiculously proud of it. Pictures later.

I am always a bit shocked when things I made while playing around are useful.

inmysocks (version: awoo) (inmysocks@awoo.space)'s status on Friday, 01-Feb-2019 14:19:03 CET inmysocks (version: awoo) the EPS definition language is an almost complete programming language. I am not sure if it is turing complete, but it can display output and do math at least.
I was not expecting this.
This will make getting vector paths from the EPS files either much easier than I expected or ridiculously difficult. We shall see.
