   My family and I are in a crisis.

   I'm desk rejected from every job. We have no home, we rely on house sits - so move constantly. We have no savings, working for the Norwegian government and then abandonment by professional communities here made sure of that. We can't get a deposit to get a rental to get and address to get work to get a deposit to get a rental...

   ...after massive personal investment in education/training and a lifetime of experience this is just ..beyond.

     I've been sending out selection criteria and CVs for a year now, talking to people, trying to find a place/space/support. Only to be ghosted and / or desk rejected - meaning "Adam we think you can't do this job, you're not capable"

     It's breaking me apart personally, not to mention my family. I can't support or mentor or model anything for my kids, I can't even get food on the table or pay rent.

     I also know writing about this only makes things worse. I mean really who's gonna hire me now? This guy who is desk rejected from everywhere, clearly has a monster personality defect or something.

     What else can I do? I've tried to absorb as much as I can, be as optimistic as possible. Everyone has limits.

     I've also tried to keep some side projects going, they're harder and harder to justify because experience says they go nowhere. They're not worth it, just more energy leaving and none coming back.

     All the thoughtful writing, communication about research and care, geospatial proofs of concepts, all useless.

     Maybe some other people use them and got careers out of it good for them I guess.
