   @andrewrk I don't know what's the status of the Zig foundation, but doing grants instead could be an interesting alternative to bounties.
   It's also a good way to handover the development and organization effort to independent devs, making them propose a project plan before and giving them the money as milestones are achieved can be a good way to deal with this.
   I'm currently receiving a grant from NLnet that works that way and I'm really happy with this approach.

     I agree - I think grants are a much healthier way to fund development efforts.
