Imagine we have two series: +ref and +other. +ref and +other represent the same but sometimes there is a shit in +other with respect to +ref. This shift is sometimes forwards and sometimes backwards but very close to +ref. +other could be very good for instance to quantify extremes but it could be degraded by these shifts in something like a linear regr. Is there any statistical technique that could help to improve those shifts in +other or to quantify how "good" or "bad" is +other against +ref?
