   ^ This guy is the maintainer of several popular Haskell FOSS tools. The 2 days conference ticket is around 600€.
   
   Something is really broken here. Can't tell if it's the whole skills matter conference ecosystem or the fact that one of their event became pretty central in the Haskell community.
   
   It's not like there ain't any event financing alternatives, I mean, look at Zurihack...
   
   Anyways, I feel like I'm going to have an angry lunch today.

     Yes, everything is broken. That's why I shit on the conferences and everything related.

     I talked in some confs and I visit some but only if they are for free or they asked me to share my views with no restriction.

     I'm so pissed of with "let's suck each others dick"-like conferences.

     The most interesting thing during conferences, at least to me, is meeting people you are usually interacting with online.
     
     Maybe the solution to this problem is that we should organize these events as a community, stop scheduling talks and let people meet/work together.
     
     The basque country side is pretty cheap and really nice, maybe we should organise something like this.
     
     I'm sure we can find a venue/housing cheap enough in a small village to make the event free.

     Some people here in Bilbao organize this kind of events.

     Events are free and anyone can join. They make many kinds of events but, for instance, they make a day for working on side projects where you can also show them to others and work with others to solve them freely.
     It's cool, but in our small community here in Bilbao we know each other and we need more new people to come in... (that's not going to happen here) 1/2

     @Ninjatrappeur And, as I'm also a little bit bored of having always the same kind of hipster developer who likes the product part of the development process... I always thought to make my own events or whatever...
     But I'm not good with that part and I don't have many resources (fucking money, it rules everything) to spend on this.

     I'm really interested on meeting *new* people with fresh views.
