I'm designing a new Lode Runner version and I need to make the sentinels and the character. They must fit 16x16pixels and look ok with the attached environment.
Any idea??

I need to make a dig animation, a climb animation, a hang-on-the-rope (what's the word for that?) animation and a run animation...

I don't know what kind of character could fit this...
