I'm a bit surprised about your view of IRC. We definitely have a code of conduct and we want to be welcoming. If you encounter instances where where you (or someone else) is made unconfortable, please speak up! It's not always necessarily obvious (because language or bad habit or whatever).@cyplo

okay a #guix community question:is there a place with nice folks where people can ask questions and collab around #guix ? I skimmed the IRC archives and these are full of "hehe if you don't know how to use it why are you using it" techbros. Is there some code of conduct enforced in any of the #guix communities ?

@roptat @ekaitz_zarraga thank you both, that is quite encouraging ! :) My usecase is that I would like to see if I can migrate all my configs from nix (servers & workstations) to guix because I understand scheme much more than I understand nix, the installer is nicer etc :) But at the same time I'm wary of investing in an ecosystem if people there are not nice to each other, esp that is under the gnu and fsf banner and we all saw what happened recently with rms etc; so kinda want to understand where things are

@ekaitz_zarragaWhen I can't answer a question on IRC and nobody seems to know either, that's also what I recommend. But if you are lucky and the right person is around, you can get help more quickly on IRC.
Haven't been on IRC much lately, but we really need to lower the hostility. In any case we have a code of conduct that applies to irc (and every other official communication channel). It's just a matter of noticing and enforcing.@cyplo
