    If anyone is curious...

    I'm gluten intolerant- I can't eat wheat or barley.

    I'm fodmap sensitive, I can't eat high fodmap foods like mushrooms, cauliflower, eggplant, etc.

    And I have fructose malabsorption, which means I can't really eat sugar or fruits in any significant amounts.

      One of the reasons that travel is so hard for me is my dietary needs.

      For a person who makes a choice about their diet for ethical or religious reasons, it's not easy.

      For me, eating a food or having contamination can mean the difference between me being able to be pain free or not, or being able to go out in public or not.

      It means that when I travel to another country, I have to spend a great deal of time and effort around food planning, so much so that it's often too difficult for me.

      I will mention it to the doctor next time I get a checkup, but I don't have many of these symptoms.

      What happens when I eat certain high fodmap foods or sugar is they don't digest, they ferment, quite literally, and I will have terrible, constant (every 3-5 minutes at a time) flatulence for days at a time.

      This is what I mean by "I can't go out"- not that I'm incapable of going out but my symptoms are so socially unacceptable that it would be unacceptable to go out.
