   Our Vimeo Premium (which we got with a substantial discount coupon last year) is coming up for renewal at full price (€840/year) and our tiny two-person not-for-profit (Small Technology Foundation) can’t afford to renew it and, plus, I really want to explore small video streaming (see our latest Small Is Beautiful on the subject: https://small-tech.org/videos/small-is-beautiful-10/) so we’ll be switching to using Owncast for upcoming live streams and downgrade to Vimeo Pro to keep hosting the recordings.

     @punkscience Because (a) framatube, etc., wasn’t around when we set up the account and (b) they couldn’t do live steaming when we needed to start doing so (and Owncast didn’t exist) and (c) we are only two people working on creating our own software and we can either do that or spend 100% of our time self-hosting everything :)

     Definitely things we will look into going forward but, sadly, we can’t do everything at once.
