   If Facebook does change it's name won't that mean that the millions of people on that platform will have to change links etc on websites and other places (brochures, marketing materials etc) to point to the new profile.

   Given the amount of money people spend doing this, they are perhaps going to be very very angry about it

   This presents us as a fediverse a massive opportunity to promote fedi as an alternative and perhaps a small window to get people on here instead.

   After all you own instance is your own, no one else is going to decide to just the name to suit them

     @valleyforge @zleap is not that easy. Facebook icon represents Facebook. The bad reputation is on that icon and their services.If Facebook does not handles this correctly, could mean the end of this social networks, not just a rebrand 😂 (i hope this happen)

     It's not just the domain (which i'm sure it's hardcoded in thousands of places). Just hang around any city on Spain, the number of shops that have the icons is just amazing: https://desnormalicemos.nogafam.es/

     @valleyforge @zleap not just that. Imagine all the users with Facebook installed on their phones. New brand will surely make them suspect something and they might even think someone hacked their phone and deleted Facebook.Facebook (the original social network) is probably dead already. There is no way to go out of this nightmare for FB.
