We always give a lot of importance to encryption, but not that much to signing, and signing it's really important because it allows others to be able to trust you.

For example, how do you know this toot was written by the real owner of this account and not someone else that broke into it? Or maybe an administrator directly writing on a database?

This toot isn't that important, but what about something really important where you need to trust that it was said by someone?
