   ElasticSearch 7.x is a real bitch... Somehow it won't install a config, and upgrading from 6.x results in a timeout for restart? :thinking_rotate:

   What makes it so much different, the configs are the same right? Maybe openjdk 9 or something? :mortyderp:

     Okay so solution is quite simple! For people struggling updating ElasticSearch (for future Mastodon releases) do the following:

     Edit:
     
     /usr/lib/systemd/system/elasticsearch.service
     

     And set TimeoutStartSec to a HIGER value.

     After that reload daemons and restart! 🎉

     Also indexes need to be rebuild I guess since some refs have gone it seems

     @stux Hmm have you noticed much difference running mastodon with ElasticSearch?

     I don't think I can justify the ram difference for <10 active users at the moment.
