@ekaitz_zarraga I know a subset of LaTeX, and when I need to use more, I look it up, understand it, apply it, and then forget it next day.
It's just another programming language.

@ekaitz_zarraga @piggo
I'm not sure they're pronounced exactly like this, probably depends a lot on dialect too...
@piggo oh come on it's just greek with a few extra letters
@piggo
oh, also:
С - sigma
then there's the weird stuff
В - v
Ж - ž
З - z
И - i
Н - n
Ц - c
Ч - č
Ш - š
Щ - šč
Э - e (for real this time)
Ю - yo
Я - ya
Ъ, Ы, Ь - put i or e here when you feel like there were too many consonants in a row
That's the way I understand it, which is probably horrible and wrong on many levels but I do get some intelligible stuff this way.
@piggo I mean, I can't read cyrylic or greek at any reasonable speed, but like....
А - a
Б - beta
Г - gamma
Д - delta
Е - e (actually ye but close enough)
К - k
Л - lambda
М - m
О - o
П - pi
Р - rho
У - upsilon
Ф - phi
Х - chi
that's like half of the wildly used ones.
Well ok the other half is kinda confusing and has no obvious connection to greek.
I hate how inconsistently Poettering's software works - other people complain that it's broken for them, but it works for me. Why doesn't it break for me too? What am I supposed to reply to those people whose experience is at stark contrast with mine!
@lunarised Wanted a chunk of memory anyway? We already had that, it was called static arrays.
@ajroach42 on the internet, anything can be forever or can disappear in an hour, and you can't rely on it doing any of those in particular
Is there a correlation between being interested in compiler internals and liking dragons/wyverns/etc?
@mntmn by default, the history is saved when you exit a shell so whichever shell you exit last wins. You can enable histappend so that all tgese gistories get merged instead of overwriting each other, but if you don't also increase history limit by a lot, you'll keep losing stuff anyway
tired: I wish I could make my own distro but I don't know how to even start
wired: I thought these customizations would be easier to manage as debian packages in a custom repo and then I realized I accidentally made a distro
