Wolf480pl (wolf480pl@mstdn.io)'s status on Tuesday, 15-Feb-2022 15:08:29 CET Wolf480pl @piggo I mean, I can't read cyrylic or greek at any reasonable speed, but like....
А - a
Б - beta
Г - gamma
Д - delta
Е - e (actually ye but close enough)
К - k
Л - lambda
М - m
О - o
П - pi
Р - rho
У - upsilon
Ф - phi
Х - chithat's like half of the wildly used ones.
Well ok the other half is kinda confusing and has no obvious connection to greek.

С - sigmathen there's the weird stuff
В - v
Ж - ž
З - z
И - i
Н - n
Ц - c
Ч - č
Ш - š
Щ - šč
Э - e (for real this time)
Ю - yo
Я - ya
Ъ, Ы, Ь - put i or e here when you feel like there were too many consonants in a rowThat's the way I understand it, which is probably horrible and wrong on many levels but I do get some intelligible stuff this way.

Those are not like you say. The middle one is an open "i". The other two strengthen or lighten the sound of the previous. What I mean here is the one in the middle is just a normal letter while the others can fit your definition better (they are like pseudoletters, they don't represent any sound by themselves).
Me, a western european teaching cirilic to a central? eastern? -european feels crazy as fuck but hey! I know what I'm talking about for once!

I'm not sure they're pronounced exactly like this, probably depends a lot on dialect too... -

Russian is quite uniform in the whole country, and spanish is weird but I wouldn't consider that we have strong dialects here, like italians have for instance.
We have some full-blown languages and it's a lot of fun.
