@admin @pixelfed Stories were added to big social platforms and featured super-prominently in their UIs because fear of missing out increases engagement.

That’s not to say there’s no value in (not necessarily disappearing) daily featured content, or in a disappearing posts feature (though I question that in a federated system where not all nodes will honor the request to expire it), but “stories” implies tying together those two features, and I think I’ve expressed why I think that’s harmful.
