Does anyone have any recommendations of Evernote alternatives? FOSS? non-surveillance capitalism? May I be so bold to tag @aral for a suggestion?

Mx Aria Stewart (aredridel@anarchism.space)'s status on Thursday, 04-Oct-2018 00:20:57 CEST Mx Aria Stewart @caesarologia @aral I always throw a bunch of markdown in a folder. Sparkleshare to sync it, Typora to edit tidily. It combines to form a networked note-taking system that works really well

I use a combination of orgzly and snotepad on mobile and vscode on the desktop. Markor is another option if you want richer editing.

I've not tried it yet, but Joplin caught my attention.

Björn Schießle ? ?? (bjoern@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 04-Oct-2018 00:30:34 CEST Björn Schießle ? ?? @qwazix @caesarologia @aral Btw, there are also nice Android apps for Nextcloud Notes and it integrates nicely in GNOME Notes. But at the end it is "just" text files with some markdown. If you are looking for something more Evernote-like I heard many good things about Joplin, which syncs with Nextcloud as well, if you wish. https://joplin.cozic.net/

You might use #etherpad as an alternative to evernote. It's free software. Here is a list of public instances https://github.com/ether/etherpad-lite/wiki/Sites-that-run-Etherpad-LiteIn conversation permalink Attachments
