@ekaitz_zarraga When I explain public blockchains (as opposed the regular sequences which hash the previous elements, like git for example) I focus on the main benefit, which is that you have a shared ledger when none of the users of the system trusts each other. Also, it's only useful if the information in the blockchain has value on its own and not tied to a real-world thing.
Besides cryptocurrencies, voting systems are the only thing I can think of that fits that definition.
@loke I agree. There is also the private blockchain thing for tracing and inter-organization communication... but I don't know if it's a good point.
