@ekaitz_zarraga @mntmn I have a list of requirements for my perfect music player that is like four pages long. I even looked into designing and building it myself for a bit, but audio is scary and I know very little about it from the electronics side of it.

@ekaitz_zarraga @piggo I don't know about JavaScript, but in Python there is a __hash__ magic method, which defaults to object's id, which tells the dicts how to hash the objects of that type. So by default they get hashed by id, which gives you pretty much what you described, but you can change it to only use some values from the object that you choose. There is no problem with foreach, because the dict stores both the keys and the hashes.

Don't let yourself be bullied into capitalism. It's fine to do things for free if that is what you want to do. It's fine to ask for favors without immediately offering anything in exchange. It's fine to spend resources on your hobbies, even if they don't give you any tangible benefits. You are not naive, stupid or infantile when you try to keep money out of as much of your life as you can. Surround yourself with friends you trust, so that you don't have to do everything as transactions.

I'm so tired of #gamedev saying "we made the game first-person perspective because it's more immersive", when we know since forever that it's not.

First of all, it feels like looking through a keyhole, or a cardboard tube. People have 220° peripheral vision even when not moving our heads, and we move our heads all the time.

But more importantly, we have mirror neurons in our heads. Looking at a character lets us empathize with it, and feel what we imagine it must feel.
