@ekaitz_zarraga Of course, there is only a message when there is communication. If your art is never shared with an audience, there is no communication. Also, of course the message does not have to be intentional.

One might and I'm sure some people do. I personally think there is not much merit in the discussion of what is art. The discussion of the message of an artwork is an interesting one though. Because the artwork is a vehicle of communication between the artist and the audience. And as such it will have a message, though not necessarily a clear and unambiguous one. I think the message depends very much on the cultural and societal context of the artist and the audience, and whether these contexts are shared or not. -

The definition art is, like anything, socially constructed. So it is to be expected that various communities might have different definitions. -

That's a clear if somewhat subjective definition. Does it relate in any way to the use of a build tool? -

Number of source files, total lines of code, dependencies; or is it the nature of the code: cyclomatic complexity, data structure complexity, patterns of computation?

Wim 🈂️ (wim_v12e@cybre.space)'s status on Monday, 13-Dec-2021 18:55:46 CET Wim 🈂️ @ekaitz_zarraga Well, "enjoy" is a strong word. But basically until April I had a job with a lot of responsibility and lots of meetings, so I had to learn more about things like leadership, emotional intelligence etc.
I prefer interacting with fewer people and writing more code, that's for sure. -

And of course every time I write a research proposal I learn a lot about something very niche. But for example I have it on my list to learn more category theory and so far I have not managed to get around to it. -

I know that knowing a lot of things will not make me happier, but learning is fun. Being happy is kind of orthogonal to that. I feel old, and I am daily reminded of how weak I am. But in a way for me that is a good thing. Maybe paradoxically, being older and weaker has its advantages.

I think in most of Europe, the English teachers are UK focused. Which bits of British culture did they teach you that you'd rather they didn't?

and Chisel https://github.com/BSVLang/Main
My team and I work on compilers from high-level languages to hardware, but I personally focus on the front-end and program transformations.
